So proud that The Am Brook at Torbryan won the Best Landscape Cup at Dartmouth Art Society’s Annual Members’ Exhibition in April, the second prize this painting has won! And we won the quiz, too!
I was delighted that after the “Our Wonderful World” Exhibition at Torquay by artists from Torbay Guild of Artists, my landscape painting “The Am Brook at Torbryan” was chosen as the profile picture for the Group’s Facebook Page. Shortly afterwards it was Runner Up in the President’s Cup for landscape paintings at Brixham Art Society’s Annual Members’ Competition. The painting shows a beautiful spring day in Devon with the spring foliage and blossom emerging on the banks of the stream.
I was thrilled to sell my painting “Down to the Beach, South Milton” on the first day of this exhibition! The picture above shows my corner at the Spanish Barn, before the painting was sold – I need to take another one to fill the gap! There is a lot of good work on show from both amateur and professional artists and I spent a very happy hour browsing. There are styles and prices to suit every taste and every pocket – 3D, ceramics and textile work as well as oils, watercolours and acrylics. If you haven’t got the wall space for a full-on painting there are prints in the browsers and lots of greetings cards. If the weather is good you can walk in the grounds of the Abbey which has lovely views across Torbay and refresh yourselves at the cafe which is next door to the Spanish Barn. It makes a lovely outing!
